As an aspiring author<\/span>, I\u00a0very often\u00a0<\/span>experience moments when I don\u2019t quite know what to say. It\u2019s strange, isn\u2019t it? We rely on words to express our thoughts, yet sometimes there just aren\u2019t enough of them \u2014 or the right ones \u2014 to truly capture what we mean. One of my favorite lines from Shakespeare\u2019s\u00a0Hamlet<\/i>\u00a0is \u201cWords, words, words\u201d,\u00a0which is a reminder that, at times, words can fall short. But they can also take us far. You don\u2019t have to be Shakespeare. Just stay motivated and write. And with limitless possibilities for storytelling, how far will your imagination travel?<\/span><\/p>\n

Words are our tools of the trade, though them\u00a0<\/span>we spin tales that surprise and delight us, and that are full of dramatic, active scenes with lots of thrilling moments<\/span>. And with limitless possibilities for storytelling, how far will your imagination travel?<\/span><\/p>\n

With that in mind, let\u2019s write some stories.\u00a0<\/span>This\u00a0summer<\/span>, I\u2019m inviting you to explore\u00a0your\u00a0<\/span>power (and limitations)\u00a0over\u00a0<\/span>language. Whether you spin a story of\u00a0bravery<\/span>,\u00a0adventure<\/span>, or\u00a0romance<\/span>, let\u2019s see how far you can push language to create something new.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the Inkwell Short Story Contest, you can write about almost anything on the theme, but whatever your rhyme or reason, we want to read your short fiction. All we ask is that you keep the story under 5000 words.<\/span>Only 6 lucky<\/span>winners will be chosen.\u00a0One of the largest prizes\u00a0is\u00a0<\/span>a chance to see your words on the\u00a0Inkwell website. We will also showcase the winners and their stories weekly, on multiple platforms<\/span>. That\u2019s not all. It opens up further opportunities where\u00a0you can meet fellow writers through our events<\/span>. Finally, we will champion you not only as one of our winners but as our alumni, part of the\u00a0Inkwell\u00a0<\/span>family.<\/p>\n
